Our Story, Baked Into Every Biscuit
Inspired by French traditions. Rooted in family. Crafted with care in every batch.
I named Douceur Elise after my grandmother Elise (1912–2011) -a name that means Elise's sweetness, a tribute to her warmth, kindness, and precious memories.
Growing up, quatre-heures was a cherished ritual in our family—every afternoon, we’d gather at her table, with my brothers, cousins, and uncles, sharing stories and laughter over a plate of biscuits.
Today, we’re bringing that tradition to life, baking the same biscuits we grew up with, using the timeless Le Petit Beurre recipe (1886). Each one carries a heartfelt message, celebrating life’s special moments and the joy of creating new memories.
At Douceur Elise, every biscuit tells a story. We hope it becomes part of yours.
We’re Fabrice and Laurent, childhood friends who met at 14 on the tennis court in our small village in France. Life took us across the world—we each lived in five different countries before reconnecting in the San Francisco Bay Area.
What brought us back together? A shared passion for craftsmanship, tradition, and the simple joy of baking. The biscuits we make today are the same ones we grew up with after school—warm, familiar, and meant to be shared.
Douceur Elise is a true family effort. Our kids help in the kitchen or packaging, and our wifes are always there to support us along the way.
